Strains and sprains are graded 1, 2 or 3 depending on their severity:
- Grade 1 injuries are the least severe, with up to 10% of a muscle’s fibers or the ligament being damaged.

- Grade 3 injuries are generally a complete rupture of the muscle or the tendon
